Call For Musicians/Sci-fi Poets/Sci-fi Story Tellers to perform in http://www.cybertown.com

Event Theme: Sci-fi/Fantasy

Hello Sci-fi fans every where! Did you know that Cybertown is one of the universes hosting Worldcon(R) VR events for the 57th World Science Fiction(R) Conference (Aussiecon3(R)) being held in Melbourne, Australia? These events will take place from Sept. 2 - 6 in Australia (Sept 1 - 5 in the US).

Along with live webcasts of events from the Aussiecon3 convention floor (like the Hugo Awards!), we will also be providing *Musician Avatars and Poet/Story Teller Avatars* for everyone's listening pleasure. If you are an artist, we have an Art Gallery that has been especially set up for this International Sci-fi event! This event has be widely publicized around the world and we expect to get more visitors than you can count on all your favorite alien's fingers and toes.

NOTE: Only registered members will be allowed to submit verbal content so please register and activate your FREE membership before submitting anything.

Musicians, Poets or Sci-fi writers wanting to submit clips to be played at this event can access the Submission Forms via a link in the Cybertown Daily News. (Artists, too will find a link to a form in the Daily News). You will need to fill out some information on yourself and your content. You will be presented with a gallery of avatars to choose from and a text box to include your .ram file. You will also pick the time and place you want to play at (City Hall, City Cafe or Dragon Cafe).

We will only accept STREAMING RealAudio files for this event.Make sure the extension is .ram and your ISP supports the RealAudio streaming format.

Does all this sound too hard? Cybertown has put together a short page to help the uninitiated get up to speed on where to find the tools you need to get your content in shape for this (and future) events. You'll find that page link in the Cybertown Daily News and on the submission forms.

The current plan is to allow 3 hrs per musician/band. What that means is that your music clip will be available for 3 hours for anyone in Cybertown to listen to. If you are submitting poetry or stories your clip will be available for 1 hour time slots. The sign up schedule is coordinated with the daily opening and closing times of the Aussiecon3 event. That event runs from Sept 2 - 6 in Melbourn, Australia which corresponds to Sept 1 to 5 in the United States.

How does it work? Any individual who wants to listen to your content will click on your special avatar which will launch the G2 player for them. They can listen to your verbal art over and over, if they want. Tres Kewl!

The performance schedule will be posted in the Cybertown Daily News.

You and your friends might want to go to www.real.com to get or upgrade to the latest version of the free RealPlayer G2 to enjoy this event to the fullest.

Remember, you have to be a registered member of Cybertown to participate and membership is FREE!

Hope to "hear" you there! <grin>
