There is something really useful that can be done by the members of this list given the current community brouhaha.

It is said, the VRML as it is is too hard. It is said that the Web content community has not embraced it. Ok. This list has most of the talent that has embraced it.

o What can't it do that it should to make applications easier to create?

o Given some range of applications (you choose), what components do you need to build them if the geometry component is common?

o Should the current VRML model be fixed? Should the current VRML model be abandoned? Why in terms of content applications?
Why in terms of producing the content?

Time to speak up and post to the main list. These applications of non-VRML formats may have features you need. List those. Give examples of how you would use them. Even if we take a step back to take two steps forward, now is the time to get the ideas on the table. Otherwise, conspiracies aside, the moneyed interests will take the path leading to the quickest profits. That ain't all bad, but we still need the long view and the Lit-list has the longest one.
