This is "Cremation Season" in Bali. A small banjar south of Ubud is
organizing a special event in which 45 persons, each with her or his own
tower
and special large paper-mache animal, will be cremated and have their souls
released to make the journey into the next place. Such a large scale
cremation is rare, and wonderful because the whole community participates.
Equally rare is the opporunity to stay in a hotel directly across the street
from the preparations and witness the preparations and the event itself.
