I did some email with the creator of the engine after
looking it over. This is a very sophisticated approach
and it appears Chris has really thought it through and
backs it up with a lot of experience.

Len, I designed the storytelling engine to be quite independent of its user interface, so it would be fairly simple to create a version for the VRML environment or in Java. Indeed, it is so interface-independent that there's no connection with "3D stories" -- it's a general-purpose interactive storytelling engine. The biggest constraint here is simply time and money; there's only one of me and I have my hands more than full on current efforts to make this technology fly. The spirit is willing, but the fingers on the keyboard are weak. Someday I'm sure that the rest of the world will figure out the importance of interactive storytelling, but for the moment I remain a prophet in the desert and must work alone.
Chris"
Looks like an opportunity for the right folks.
